ASEAN is becoming an increasingly active and influential player on the global stage. Our research focuses on collective efforts to build cooperation and connectivity in South-east Asia and beyond. We look at how political and socioeconomic developments affect business in the region.
We seek to drive international action and collaboration across sectors to deal with environmental challenges. We work closely with governments, corporations and NGOs to tackle environmental issues such as the transboundary haze and climate change.
In 2017, we visited the village of Sungai Tohor in Riau, which has regained control of its lands from concession companies. This documentary highlights how Indonesia’s land reform push has helped the community play a stronger role in fighting climate change by preventing fires and haze.
