The Eric Teo Global Citizens Internships

The Eric Teo Memorial Fund will be instituted to support public education on Asian, Asia-Europe and International issues, with public talks, articles, and a student fellowship program.

About The Eric Teo Memorial Fund

Each year, the Singapore Institute of International Affairs will grant student fellowships to students and recent graduates, aimed at broadening horizons for the award recipients. The Fellowships will be flexible, with programs ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months and tenable in Singapore or other countries.

The Fund will also support public talks, including the Eric Teo Memorial Forum, and publications on international and regional affairs.

The Fund will be administered by the SIIA, with whom Eric served for many years as its Council Secretary and a Council member, with the consent of his family.

The SIIA hopes the Fund will help more Singaporeans and residents know more about the region and the world. It is hoped that the student fellowships will help the recipients’ research and understand the larger world and share that knowledge through writing and other activities. In so doing, we hope that fellowship awardees will come to have a deeper knowledge and love for international affairs.

Dr. Eric Teo has been devoted to international affairs all his life. We hope that the Dr. Eric Teo Memorial Fund will be something that would make him proud.
