Hong Kong Financial Secretary John C. Tsang is visiting Singapore to speak at the SIIA’s ASEAN and Asia Forum, on Hong Kong’s relations with Singapore and ASEAN. Hong Kong media has reported on the trip and Mr. Tsang’s expected speech at the forum.

Mr. Tsang is one of the most senior principal officials in Hong Kong’s government, responsible for all economic matters. The following is a translation of an article that appeared in Apple Daily on 28 July 2014. Mr. John. C. Tsang Visits Singapore to Attend ASEAN & Asia Forum

The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Mr. John C. Tsang will visit Singapore from Wednesday, 30 July 2014, to attend the ASEAN & Asia Forum organised by the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, and deliver his speech at the forum. He will meet Singapore government officials as well as representatives from business and banking sectors in Singapore, fostering economic and business relations between Hong Kong and Singapore. He will return to Hong Kong on the evening of 1 August.

Mr. Tsang will also attend a gathering with the Hong Kong community to celebrate the ASEAN Internship Programme. During his visit, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Professor K. C. Chan will be the acting Financial Secretary.
