BEH SWAN GIN
Dr Beh, an Administrative Service officer, was appointed as Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) on 1 August 2008.
He joined EDB in November 1992 and has held various portfolios over the years including leadership roles in the development of Singapore’s Biomedical Sciences industry cluster, as well as overseas assignments in EDB’s North American operations.
He has also served as Executive Director of the Biomedical Research Council at the Agency for Science, Technology & Research; as well as Director of the Ministry of Trade & Industry’s Energy Planning Division.
Dr Beh is a medical doctor by training and graduated from the National University of Singapore. He was also a Sloan Fellow with a Master of Science in Management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Dr Beh is on the Board of Directors for International Enterprise Singapore; and Agency for Science, Technology and Research. In addition, he is a Trustee of the Singapore Institute of Technology; as well as a member of the Singapore Management University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business Strategy and Advisory Boards.
