ASEAN+3 Considering Stockpiling Oil

ASEAN+3 (ASEAN member states and China, South Korea and Japan) are drafting a regional energy security plan that includes an "oil stockpiling roadmap" as part of its strategy.

The draft of the energy security plan should be ready for discussion at a meeting in Myanmar in late July 09. This meeting will be of energy ministers from Asean+3 as well as New Zealand, Australia and India, and will also include representatives from the European Union.
