Indonesia and Vietnam condemn Israel’s attacks on Gaza

Indonesia and Vietnam, both serving as non permanent members of the UN Security Council, have condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza. 

Indonesia`s ambassador expressed deep disappointment about “the barbaric Zionist violence. The ambassador reminded that at least 1.5 million Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip were currently living in fear, while many of the innocents like women and children were killed.

Indonesia was also concerned about international humanitarian workers as most of them were facing the risk of being killed and injured in implementing their humanitarian mission to the region.

Vietnam asked that Israel cease all military acts and withdraw from the Gaza Strip, Representative of Vietnam to the UN Security Council, Ambassador Le Luong Minh condemned all Israeli military acts against civilians and expressed deep concern about conflicts escalating in the region following the ground invasion.

He also asked all parties concerned to facilitate emergency humanitarian relief for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, affirming Vietnam’s support for the international community’s efforts to resume the truce agreement between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) which controls the Strip.

Regarding Israel’s ground incursion into the Gaza Strip at dawn Sunday, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung also requested that Israel stop the excessive use of force and immediately withdraw its troops.
