Updated On: Apr 01, 2011

China has taken a tougher stance on coalition military strikes in Libya, after abstaining from the UN Security Council vote in March.

Chinese President Hu Jintao told the visiting Nicolas Sarkozy that the joint US, UK and French military action could "violate the original intention of the Security Council resolution."

Hu reiterated that China disapproves of using military force in international affairs.
