India, China ink US$16bn worth of deals

Chinese premier Wen Jiabao has announced that his 300-strong business delegation had struck $16bn worth of deals with Indian partners.

Mr Wen said that "the 21st century is the Asian century. It is also the century where China and India can make great achievements."

While economic ties look set to strengthen, analysts point out that political and security sensitivities persist, including a border dispute, the Dalai Lama, and China's improving ties with India's rivals in South Asia.
