President Obama has opened a 10-day tour of Asia, during which he is set to visit India, Indonesia, Japan and Seoul.
The trip comes just after Obama's Democratic Party lost significant ground in both Congress and the Senate.
Obama will focus on taking steps on opening foreign markets to American goods while easing export restrictions on American firms.
