Singapore to pledge 16% cut in emissions

Singapore will head to the global talks in Copenhagen next weekend with a pledge to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 16% versus projected business-as-usual levels by 2020.

Singapore, together with South Korea, is classified as a developing country under the Kyoto Protocol, and therefore has no targets to cut emissions between 2008 and 2012.
