City Gas is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Originally founded as Singapore Gas Company in 1861, it started as a gas provider for street lamps and has since grown into an integral supplier of gas to households and industries.
Speaking at City Gas' anniversary gala dinner on 29 July, Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang said: "City Gas’ development as an energy provider reflects the evolution of the energy landscape in Singapore...City Gas has constantly pursued innovative ways to boost their consumer offerings over the years."
"With its experience as Singapore’s town gas provider, City Gas is well-positioned to provide consumers with cost-efficient energy to power their needs," Mr Lim added.
To commemorate the 150th Year Anniversary, City Gas has lined up a series of events for the public, such as celebrity cooking classes from July to October. To find out more, visit the City Gas website or the City Gas Facebook page.
