"This year's G-20 Summit will be held in Seoul on 11-12 November and the APEC Leaders Summit will be held in Yokohoma, 13-14 November. It is a rare occasion that two high-level Summits are held back-to-back. Although the two Meetings have different agendas but the discussion outcome at the Seoul meeting would have important implications to APEC five growth strategies, namely, balanced, inclusive, sustainable, secure, innovative and inclusive growth. At the upcoming G-20 Summit, leaders would be seeking for a general consensus on how to formulate and implement economic and financial policies to offset the impacts of global financial and economic crisis and to secure the basis for long-term broad-based and sustainable growth, particularly to the developing economies. The outcome of G-20 would be vitally affecting the re-balancing growth strategy of APEC economies for balanced and sustainable growth."
