SIIA Chairman comments on diplomatic immunity in the case of former charge d'affaires for Romania Silviu Ionescu.
Singapore Institute of International Affairs chairman Simon Tay told MediaCorp that Singaporeans should not rule out the Romanian government's sense of justice and fair play.
"Romanians are also very nationalistic, and if the Singapore government or people are seen baying for blood, rather than wanting to fairly prosecute Ionescu, then I'd understand the Romanian government putting up a big defensive wall and not co-operating with Singapore," he said.
