SIIA Chairman and Schwatrz Fellow at The Asia Society spoke at 2009's National Sustainability Conference. He presented the emerging responses of Asian states to climate change and the negotiations of a post Kyoto regime.
Many observe that the issue cannot be successfully addressed without Asian cooperation and commitment. Yet such Asian responses will only be possible if the post Kyoto regime can adjust to the particular needs of these countries, generate cobenefits to the local/ national development as well as the global environment, and address issues of equity.
