SIIA chairman Simon Tay has accepted the prestigious Schwartz Fellowship from the well known Asia Society in the USA. He will be based in New York for one year, beginning Jan 2009.
He will also teach at Yale Law School and the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He is looking forward to his appointment as it will coincide with the first months of the Obama administration and provide him opportunities to discuss and share ideas about US-Asia relations.
His appointment will bring him back regularly to Singapore and the region and he will continue to serve as chairman of the SIIA until the end of his current term.
