28 June 2007 - Dr Yeo Lay Hwee, SIIA’s Senior Research Fellow was selected as one of the three recipients for the Third Nakasone Yasuhiro Award this June.
The Nakasone Yasuhiro Award given by the Tokyo-based Institute for International Policy Studies is intended to both honor meaningful achievements in the political, economic, cultural and science and technology fields and encourage future endeavors which will contribute towards the realization of peace and prosperity in the international community. The Award is opened to scholars, activists, artists and scientists from the Asia-Pacific region.
Dr Yeo was presented the Nakasone Award in a ceremony held at the ANA Intercontinental Hotel in Tokyo on 28th June 2007. She was selected for the Award based on her exemplary research work related to peace and development in Southeast Asia, Asia-Europe relations and comparative regionalism.
