SIIA Chairman Simon Tay has been appointed to the Climate Change Network.
The network, formed by the National Climate Change Secretariat, brings together experts and stakeholders who are interested and invested in climate change issues. It serves as an informal platform for select representatives from the public, private and people sectors to meet, share information and facilitate a healthy exchange of views and provide suggestions to the Secretariat on climate change issues. These include technology and capability development, public communication strategies and outreach programmes.
Permanent Secretary (National Climate Change) Mr. Tan Yong Soon chairs the network, which includes Ms. Chew Gek Khim, Chairman of the National Environment Agency; Mr. Leo Yip, Chairman of the Economic Development Board; Mr. Tan Gee Paw, Chairman of the Public Utilities Board; Mr. Teo Ming Kian, Permanent Secretary (National Research and Development); Mr. Choo Chiau Beng, CEO of Keppel Corporation; Mr. Edwin Khew, CEO of IUT Global and Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore; Mr. Kwek Leng Joo, Managing Director of City Development Ltd; Mr. Lee Tzu Yang, Chairman of Shell Singapore; Mr. Philip Ng, CEO of Far East Organisation and Chairman of Singapore University Technological Development Board of Trustees; Mr. Tang Kin Fei, Group President and CEO of Sembcorp Industries; Mr. Lim Chuan Poh, Chaiman of A*Star, Professor Su Guaning, President of Nanyang Technological University; Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, President of the National University of Singapore; Mr. Cheong Yip Seng, former Editor-in-Chief of Singapore Press Holdings; and Dr. Geh Min, former President of Nature Society and recipient of the President's Award for the Environment.
