28 Jun 9th Singapore Dialogue on Sustainable World Resources (SDSWR)
Research shows that the protection of 58% of Southeast Asia’s threatened forests can be financially viable even at modest carbon prices, avoiding massive amounts of carbon emissions. To achieve this potential, new regulatory mechanisms and verification systems are needed to realise the potential of carbon markets.
Themed “Harnessing Nature for Climate Action: Opportunities for Businesses and Governments”, this year’s 9th Singapore Dialogue on Sustainable World Resources (SDSWR) held on Tues, 28 June 2022 will explore the following:
– How are ASEAN governments synergising their net-zero targets with the need to ensure economic growth?
– How is carbon trading developing in our region and what are the challenges that needs to be addressed to scale carbon markets?
– What are the emerging and innovative ways in which countries and companies are working towards achieving climate aims, and how can Singapore play a role?
