ASEAN-UK Dialogue on “The Future of ASEAN-UK Cooperation, Post-Brexit”

08 Nov ASEAN-UK Dialogue on “The Future of ASEAN-UK Cooperation, Post-Brexit”

As the world grows more tumultuous amid political upheavals that resonate far beyond the national boundaries of any one single nation, the partnerships that ASEAN and the UK have cultivated over decades of shared history will begin to assume an even greater importance than ever before. This Dialogue, hosted by the Singapore Institute of International Affairs and Chatham House, will discuss some of the overarching challenges that will necessitate ongoing collaboration between ASEAN and the UK in years to come. This includes the upkeep of the rules-based international system, which has enabled nations to participate in networks of free trade and commerce, environmental issues, and the looming existential threat of climate change. Of equal importance are the sweeping changes that will be brought about by the development of the digital economy, and a fast-evolving regional security architecture.
